Letty Jane Franke

Letty Jane Franke was born November 20, 1930 in Minnesota and passed away November 4, 2011 from natural causes. She has called Rockford home for most of her adult life beginning with her 26 year marriage to Carl W. Franke, former pastor of Beth Eden United Methodist Church. Together they had five children. In retirement from teaching special education at Page Park School, Letty traveled regularly around the country visiting her brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren. She often enjoyed doing puzzles with the family on visits. Letty taught herself to use a computer in her retirement years and made a hobby of sending homemade greeting cards decorated with pictures she had taken from previous family visits. She was active in her church. Letty is predeceased by her parents, Lawrence and Luella Adelmann, and sister, Lorna Joiner. Survivors include: children, David Franke of Amarillo, TX, Dwight Franke of Rosamond, CA, Daniel Franke (Ann) of Berthoud, CO, Carolyn Smith (Larry) of Orlando, FL, Carmen Wagnon (Mike) of Lancaster, CA, several grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, sister, Lynette Presson of Glendale, AZ, brothers, Lorin Adelmann of Manitoba, Canada, Layen Adelmann (Shirley) of New Jersey, Lorado Adelmann (Arllys) of Decorah, IA, and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held November 11, 2011 at Beth Eden United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. with Rev. Doug Bowden officiating.
