Lewis J. Lew Moore, 90, died on Sunday, January 8, 2012 in Provena St. Anne Center. Born October 30, 1921 in Rockford, son of David S. and Mona D. Borst.nbsp; Married Marilyn A. Puffer on April 12, 1947 in Centennial United Methodist Church.nbsp; He worked for Barnes Drill Company where he became a member of the IAM.nbsp;Worked for the Federal Government as a Federal Mediator and then a Federal Arbitrator prior to retiring in 1986. Veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving 4 years in the CBI Theater during WWII.nbsp; Member of Riverside Community Church.nbsp; He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge No.166.nbsp; Lew loved train traveling, collecting interesting post cards and stamps and enjoyed lawn bowling.

Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Marilyn; nieces and nephews, John Cecchinelli, Karen Cecchinelli, Elaine (Conrad) Thornton, Sally Truitt (John) Ryberg, Jennifer (Alan) Soderberg, Carol (Mark) Barrickman and Paul (Vickie) DeWitt; great nieces and nephews, Lisa, Laura, Wade, Randy, Ryan, Kim, Morgan, Christopher, Mike and Bradley; sisterinlaw, Sally DeWittnbsp;as well as several cousins. Predeceased by his parents, sister, Bettie Cecchinelli and nephew, Peter Cecchinelli.nbsp;

Funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 11, 2012 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Rev. Nat Bauer officiating.nbsp; Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery.nbsp; Visitation from 1:00 p.m. until time of the service.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Northern Illinois Hospice amp; Grief Center or Rockford Rescue Mission.
