Lily Angelina Terranova Tartaglia

Lily Angelina Terranova Tartaglia, 78, Rockford, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at Home Bridge Center in Belvidere. She was born April 25, 1933, in Rockford, the daughter of Louis J. and Angelina M. (Verona) Terranova. Lily worked in guest relations at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center for 20 years retiring in 2006. She is a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Lily attended St. Anthony School and was a 1951 graduate of Rockford West High School.Survived by her son, Dr. David (Jill) Tartaglia of Poplar Grove, her daughter, Judy (Randy) Peacock of Machesney Park; grandchildren, Alexandra and Anjelica Peacock, Paul, Marin and Olivia Tartaglia, and soon to be born, Giavanna Lily Tartaglia; sistersinlaw, Bernice Terranova and Jennie Terranova, both of Rockford; numerous nieces, nephews, greatnieces and nephews, and greatgreat nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; sisters, Catherine Smith, Marie Jones and Theresa Bradley; brothers, Joseph, Sam, and John Terranova, nephew, Paul Terranova; niece, Theresa Terranova; sisterinlaw, Virginia Terranova; brothersinlaw, James Smith, Paul Jones, and Robert Bradley. Special thanks to the staff at Heritage Woods in Belvidere and the doctors and nurses, especially Dr. Pedro Deguzman and OSF Hospice for their kind and compassionate care. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am, Monday, February 27, 2012, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1010 Ferguson St. with the Franciscan Friars officiating. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm, Sunday, February 26, 2012, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd with the Rosary recited at 4:00 pm. Visitation from 9:00 am until time of service on Monday at the church.
