Lois E. Stein

Lois E. Stein, 60, of Rockford, went to be with her Lord on Monday, January 28, 2008 in her home. Born on September 24, 1947 in Alicia, Arkansas; the daughter of James A. and Callie Crawford. She married Larry A. Stein on July 17, 1971 in Rockford. She was employed by the Winnebago County Building Department for too many years. She was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church and attended Zion Lutheran Church. Lois was a past member of the Optimists Club, she was a Union Steward and Executive Board member of AFSCME Local 473. Lois had passion for reading, enjoyed crocheting and most of all, sharing stories with her grandchildren. Lois was a strong advocate of education, getting her diploma later in life. A proud moment was when Gabo, special son, received his GED. Survivors include her husband, Larry; son, Donald (fianca(c), Kelly daughter, Laura (girlfriend, Melissa grandchildren, Michael, Chloe and K.C.; most dear friends, Jim Willemsen and Wendy Holman; and countless number of others who called her Mom. Predeceased by her parents and brother, Mack. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, February 2, 2008 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, ILnbsp; 61108. Visitation will be held from 5 7pm Friday, February 1 at the funeral home and also from 10-11am Saturday before the service.
