Loma J. Calvagna

Loma J. Calvagna, 67, of Rockford, died unexpectedly with her family at her side,
Friday, September 23, 2011 at 12:08 a.m. at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born November 30, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of Frank and Mary Poliziano. Married her loving husband, William Bill Calvagna on February 8, 1964 at St. Josephs in Brooklyn. Worked on Wall Street for several years in her early days before she moved to Rockford where she and Bill owned and operated various restaurants and pubs.
She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and was very involved in politics. She was an avid reader and news watcher but above all she was a grandmother who loved and cherished her time with all of her grandchildren. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the ER Staff
and 3 rd and 4 th floor nurses at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, staff at Van Matre Rehab and Dr. Molinari. Survivors include her husband, Bill of Rockford; children, Frank (Lynne Paulli) Calvagna of Brodhead, WI, Lori (Tom) Miles of Roscoe and Kristi Calvagna of Rockford; grandchildren, Alexis and Keegan Miles and Cailey and Jenna Calvagna; her faithful K9 companions, Madonna and LuLu and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Lydia Caratelli.

Funeral Mass Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at 2 p.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1010 Ferguson St. Rockford. Visitation in the church from 12 (noon) until time of prayer at 1:45 p.m. Interment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Winnebago. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family.
