Lori "Lola" Mansour

November 15, 1952 — January 8, 2022

On January 8, 2022 Lori “Lola” Mansour (Schumacher/Frank), 69, finished her adventure here on Earth to start a new one with God in Heaven. Born in Chicago, Illinois Nov. 15, 1952 to her mother Antoinette Mastriani and father Larry Raetz, Lori was raised by her Mom Antoinette and Dad Thomas Schumacher in Cicero. She later made her life in the Rockford area.
Lori was known by many names – Lola, Mo, Lori Lou, Lorraine Georgiana, Mom, Grandma, Aunty Lori – every one holding a special meaning to those who adorned her with these names.

Lori spent her life giving love, encouraging it, and spreading it. She was the embodiment of love - falling in love, witnessing other people’s love stories, and giving her love to those who were lucky enough to be worthy of it. Lori’s honesty was sometimes hard to hear, but never merciless and always from the heart. Her ability to forgive surpassed even a saint’s, and she gave it readily.

Always the first to hit the basement dance floor, and the loudest singer at our radio-playing dance parties - family gatherings will never be the same. But she will be with us with every butterfly we see, in every bite of pasta we take and sip of White Zin we drink, in all the Beatles songs we hear, and in every crime documentary we watch.

When we disagree and times are rough, she’ll be in our minds saying, “family first,” it’s not worth it. And when we’re doing it right – putting our love for each other before all else and doing what makes us happy, she’ll be there too telling us “Laloo.”
She was more than a mother, grandmother, and sister – she was also their best friend. As we say goodbye to our Lola she would want us to remember to find “the good everyday – for there is."

She is survived by those who loved her most, her children Rodney (Amanda) Frank and Krystal (Patrick) Burdick; her grandchildren Mia, Tyler, Alex, Gavin, Lilly, Sadi, Alex, Bree, and Charlie; her siblings Mary (Andy) Pye, Toni (Ken) Park, and John Raetz; her nieces and nephews Denise (Matt), Christina (Paul), Andrew, Roxanne, Joey (Stephanie), and Jordan; beloved kitty Sweetie; Larry Raetz, William Frank, and an exceptional thank you to DaVita Roxbury At Home’s staff, Carol, Paige and all others for their care and compassion to Lola. Between Roxbury’s care and her daughter Krystal, who sacrificed so much in her life to help her mom, Lola’s longevity and comfort will always be remembered and appreciated by the rest of her family. She is predeceased by her parents; her husband of 25 years, Ronald “Ron” Frank; and her granddaughter Ivy.
