LORING HAL GEORGE, 60

ROCKFORD – Loring Hal George, 60, of Rockford passed away Sunday, November 2, 2014. Born August 16, 1954 in Rockford to Lloyd and Lillian (Daugirda) George. Married Nancy Hulstedt on Aug. 17, 1974. Employed as an automotive technician by Lou Bachrodt Chevrolet for 26 years. He was an 11-year stroke survivor and a 5-year volunteer at Midway Village. He loved spending time with his family, working on computers, and riding his tricycle at Rock Valley College talking to students and staff, many of whom knew him as “the wiseman”. Survivors include his wife; daughters Erica (Vaughn) de Guzman and Emily (Al) Schaefer; mother, Lillian George; brother, Kevin George; sister, Lynn George; sister-in-law, Merita (David) Scott; four granddaughters; nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father, mother- and father-in-law, and many aunts and uncles. Special thanks to Dr. Pedro de Guzman and OSF Hospice, especially Marilyn and Michelle.

Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, November 7, 2014 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home – Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, with Rev. David Scott officiating. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Friday and from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home – Mulford Chapel.
