Lorraine C. Johnson

Lorraine C. Johnson, 97, of Belvidere, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018.

She was born September 15, 1920 in Chicago to Harry and Kathryn (Schutz) Johnson.

Lorraine graduated from Steinmetz High School in Chicago in 1938. Lorraine worked as a secretary for American Optical (Pfizer) for 41 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of Elmwood Park Methodist Church in Chicago. Lorraine’s family was her world.

Survivors include her nephew, James (Barbara) Nielsen of Arlington Heights; niece, Janet (Kevin) Cotter of Cherry Valley; great nieces, Lizzie Nielsen, Sarah (Chad) Kent, Beth (Chris) Jay; great nephew, Mark (Mindy) Cotter; great-great nieces and nephews, Landon, Chase, and Lauren Kent, Evelyn and Haley Cotter, Aubrey and Mason Jay; and the Moriarty family, who were like Lorraine’s own.

Predeceased by her parents and sister Margaret (Walter) Nielsen.

Memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Heritage Woods of Belvidere 4730 Squaw Prairie Rd, Belvidere, IL 61008. Private family burial will take place at a later date.
