Lorraine C. Welte

Lorraine C. Welte, 85 of Rockford, died Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at SwedishAmercian Hospital. Born Feb. 13, 1927 in New Milford the daughter of George and Nellie Mae (Jackson) McFalls. Married her loving husband Robert Welte on May 7, 1949 at St. James Catholic Church, Rockford. Worked for several years at the 7th Street Sweet Shop, north town bank as a loan clerk and Hamilton Sundstrand from which she retired in 1990. A faithful member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, a former member of St. Marys Alter and Rosary Society, St. Marys PTA while her children attended school. She loved to knit, cook, watch John Wayne movies and go camping with her family.She was a very kind and caring woman and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.Survivors include her sons, Ron (Kathie), Tom ( Kim) and John (Jeanette daughterinlaw, Lynne Welte; 7grandsons; 6 granddaughters and 6 great grandchildren; sister, Delores Rhea and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert in 1990; brother, Willard; sister, Lucille and her son, Jim in 2011.Funeral Mass Friday, Sept. 7, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2400 Bell Ave. Interment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation Thursday, September 6 from 57 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave with a Christian Wake service to be recited at 7 p.m. Visitation continues on Friday at church in the parish hall from 9 a.m. until time of prayer at 9:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials in her name to St. Bernadette Catholic Church or The American Heart Association.
