Lorraine White

Lorraine White, of Rockford, died at 9:18 a.m. Sunday, August 8, 2021 at St. Anne Center. Born October 26, 1937 in Sheboygan, WI, daughter of Anton and Julia Panluski. Married Richard White in Woodstock, IL on November 3,1972.

Lorraine was very active with Holy Family Women’s Guild, serving 2 consecutive terms as Guild President. At the same time, she served as Holy Family’s representative on the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women.

Lorraine headed Holy Family Church’s Funeral Luncheon Ministry for over 15 years until COVID caused the luncheons to be put on hold. Following her servants heart, Lorraine was planning for their possible startup later this fall.

For many years she prepared dinner for Holy Family clergy. Lorraine also planned and prepped foods for parish retreats, meetings and various other events. She was a gourmet chef extraordinaire.

Lorraine was also a member of St. Anthony Church Altar and Rosary Society and was a member of the Lithuanian Club in Rockford.

Lorraine was an avid gardener. She belonged to the Council of Rockford Gardeners and enjoyed spending time in her perennial garden.

Lorraine enjoyed going out to eat with friends and family and spending time with family on holidays.

Survivors include children by marriage, Kris Heath White (Bob) Matheson of Rockford and Rick (Christine) White of Roscoe; niece, Irene (Rod) Jacobson of Roscoe, nephew, Denis (Linda) Eidulis of Cherry Valley and niece Nancy Brannan of Rockford; grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by husband Richard E. White, Sr.; special cousins Mary and Emil Denemark and 3 sisters and 4 brothers.

Special thanks to friends Mary Pinter, Dan and Carol Webber, and Wayne Klickman for many years of friendship and companionship.

Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Rd. Rockford, IL 61107. Final resting place will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
