Lucile S. "Luce" Wallace

Lucile S. “Luce” Wallace, 86, Rockford, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2016, at Alpine Fireside Nursing Home. She was born January 1, 1930, in Belvidere, the daughter of Charles and Gladys (Trout) White. Luce married Herbert M Wallace in Cherry Valley on September 2, 1949. He passed away in 1965. She worked as a secretary for the Rockford Board of Education for many years retiring in 1993.
Survived by her sons, Dennis (Donna) Wallace of Rockford, Charles (Sharon) Wallace of Alvin, TX and Stephen (Sandy) Wallace of Rockford; her grandchildren, Spencer and McKenzie Wallace , Erica (Ivan) Boots, Cheryl (Clarence) Wittwer, Melinda (Erick) Rockwell, Paul (Brendy) Wallace, Aaron Wallace, and Rebecca (Cornell) Blake; great-grandchildren, Michael, Alexis, and Amanda Wittwer, Robert (Nina) Rockwell, David Rockwell, Mason, Cassie, and Breann Wallace, Elizabeth and Brandon Boots, Adellyn and Asher Blake; her sister, Shirley Catron; sister-in-law, Helen White; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, her grandson, Timothy; her brothers, Royal, Charles Jr. and Stanley White; her brother-in-law, Kenneth Catron.
Memorial services will be at noon on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 3300 Rural St. Rockford. There will be a Celebration of Life gathering at Mauh-Nah-Tee-See Country Club, 5151 Guilford Rd., from 1:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 30, 2016, following the memorial service at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a fund in Luce’s name at Rockford Lutheran High School.
