Lucille A. Mackey

Lucille A. Coffey Mackey, 89, Rockford, died at 2:38 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2011 in River Bluff Nursing Home. Born April 12, 1921 in Rockford, daughter of William V. and Mary M. Hill Markham. Graduated from St. Mary Elementary School and Muldoon High School in 1939. Member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. She married John W. Coffey on August 14, 1943; he died November 30, 1972. She then married Toivo (Tim) Mackey on April 26, 1986. He also predeceased her on October 31, 2004. Lucille was a good and faithful Catholic and always had a special place in her heart for animals. Survivors include her daughter, Carol A. (Terry) Hunley, Caledonia; grandchildren, Kerry A. (Kyle) Hedrick, Byron, John H. Hunley, Loves Park and Mark S. (Jessica) Hunley, Rockford; great-grandchildren, Kirsten, Kole and Kade Hedrick, Byron. Also predeceased by her parents and son, Michael J. Coffey. The family would like to thank the staff on Eagle Wing at River Bluff Nursing Home for their kindness and care. May Lucille now find peace.No services will be held at this time.
