LUCILLE A. WOODLIFF, 87 SOUTH BELOIT - Lucille A. Woodliff, 87, died June 9, 2010, in South Beloit, after a full and rich life. Born July 31, 1922 to George and Helen (Polodna) Mara, in Prairie du Chien, Wis. She moved to Rockford in 1941 and worked as a bookkeeper for Halsted Realty until 1952. Later she worked as a bookkeeper from 1969 to 2002 for Edward Mezner, CPA. Lucille met Russell Woodliff in 1951 and they married on June 28, 1952. Lucille was a founding member of St. Bernadette's Church, where she was an active member in parish life. She was president of the Ladies Altar Society, chair of the Church Cleaning and Altar Group, Girl Scout Leader, member of the Ladies Knights of Columbus serving as treasurer. Lucille was a avid sports fan rooting for her Wisconsin Badgers, Milwaukee Brewers, Milwaukee Bucks, Green Bay Packers and Boylan Titans. Survivors include daughters, Luanne (Bob) Hanna of Roscoe and Carol Woodliff of South Pasadena, Calif.; grandchildren, Rachel Pearson of Rockford and Rebecca Hanna of Roscoe; great-grandson, Sean Townsend; and brother, Eugene (Margaret) Mara of Oak Creek, Wis. Predeceased by her parents; husband, Russell in 1987; granddaughter, Megan Pearson in 1988; and brothers, Clem, Frances, Virgil and Arnold Mara. Lucille's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the staff of Crimson Point in Rockford for the support and care they gave to Lucille over the past eight years; and a thank-you to the staff at Fair Oaks Rehabilitation Center in South Beloit for their kindness and care in the last seven months. Mass of Resurrection at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 12, in St. Bernadette Church, with visitation from 10 to 10:45 a.m. In Lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Boylan High School or Michael J.
