Lyle Newton Wagner

Lyle N. Wagner, 74, of Rockford passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016. He was born on April 10, 1942 in Chicago, the son of Lyle and Amelia (Adams) Wagner. In 1964, while attending the University of Illinois, Chicago, he met the love of his life, Carol Jean Fabrycki. The two married in 1965 in Waukegan. He proudly served in the United States Airforce as a Captain. He worked as a pharmacist for many years until his retirement. Lyle enjoyed fishing, golfing, and traveling. Above all else, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. His family always came first, and he will be missed by all those who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; his daughters, Kristin (Kenneth) Reiter and Amy (Scott) Nystrom; his grandchildren, the twins, Claudia and Madeleine Reiter, and Eric and Julia Nystrom; his sister, Linda (William) Trosper; and niece, Laura (Dan) Schweitzer. Predeceased by his parents.

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 26, 2016 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Private family burial.
