Lynn I. Felvey, 70, of Machesney Park passed away Friday, January 26, 2018 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born April 18, 1947, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter of Paul and Iris (Ericsson) Barta. Lynn was an honor student and cheerleader, graduating from Rockford West High School. She attended Bradley University and University of Illinois. Lynn married Thomas Felvey on February 3, 1968; they were just shy of celebrating 50 years of marriage. Lynn was a medical transcriptionist and co-owner of Roscoe Transcription. She also worked at OSF St. Anthony and Rockford Memorial Hospital. Lynn was an animal lover and their home never had less than 4 cats. She enjoyed volunteering for various animal organizations. In her youth, she was a talented dancer and also instructed ballet for Rockford Dance Company. Lynn enjoyed listening to classical music.

Lovingly survived by her husband, Tom; son, Brad (Danielle) Felvey; grandsons, Dustin, Aaron and Kayden; sister-in-law, Mona “Sue” McHughes; nieces, Michelle (Jeff) Granskog and Debra (Bill) Christie; great nieces and nephews, Kyle and Lauren Granskog and Will and Kailah Christie and special friend, Mary Lynn Farisi. Predeceased by her parents and brother-in-law, Willard “Mac” McHughes.

Funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home 7 Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to PAWS Humane Society.
