Maggie L. Owens

Maggie Louise Owens, 94, of Rockford, went to be with her Lord on February 10, 2022 at River Bluff Nursing Home.

Maggie was born May 16, 1927 in Black Oak, Arkansas; daughter of Robert and Bertie (Webb) Hall. She married Walter “Dink” L. Owens in Arkansas on August 14, 1946. He preceded her in death on June 11, 1993. Maggie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was strong in her faith and regularly attended church service. Most of all, Maggie cherished her time spent with family, especially her dear grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even great-great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

Surviving relatives include her daughters, Joyce (Claude) Hartsfield of Conway, AR and Tysca Owens of Rockford; grandchildren, Lynn (Mark) Bennehoff, Claude (Karen) Hartsfield, Jr., Holly (Jason) Miller and Steven (Jen) Wren; 10 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Maggie is predeceased by her parents, husband; daughter, Patricia Ann; grandson, Michael Hartsfield; sister, Mary Bolden and brothers, Lonnie Hall and Paul Stotts.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, IL 61108 with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will conclude in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
