Margaret A. Ettelson

Margaret A. Ettleson, 73, of Poplar Grove, IL, formerly of Chicago went to be with the Lord on October 4, 2008 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.  Margaret was born December 3, 1934 in Pembine, Wisconsin, the daughter of Raymond and Hazel   (De Raad) Larrabee.  Margaret married Meyer Ettleson on March 31, 1960 in Chicago.   Margaret worked as a waitress at Harris Restaurant (formerly at Irving Park Road and Kedzie Ave.) for 25 years and was an Administrator with the Cook County Adult Probation Center in Rolling Meadows for ten years.  Margaret was known as the neighborhood mom and for her generous feeding of the neighborhood children.  She loved auctions, listening to books on tapes and country music (especially Hank Williams, Jr.).  She was involved with Save-A-Pet, was an avid Green Bay Packers and Chicago Cubs Fan, and most importantly cherished spending time with her grandchildren.   Margaret is survived by her children; Dawn Gilfillan, Laura (Rick) Anderson, Raymond (Elizabeth McMurry) Ettleson,  Sharon Ettleson and Joseph Ettleson;  her sister-in-law, Onie Larrabee; her daughter-in-law, Lisa Ettleson; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  Margaret was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her sister, Edith Verla and her brother, Eugene Larrabee.   Memorial services for Margaret will be held on Friday, October 10, 2008 at 8:30 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford.  Memorial visitation will be held on Friday from 5 p.m. until time of service. Family and friends may
