Margaret "Peg" Mary Fallon

March 23, 1929 — April 11, 2021

Margaret “Peg” Mary Fallon, 92, of Rockford, passed away on April 11, 2021 on Divine Mercy Sunday at 3:00pm. She was born on March 23, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York; daughter of Alfred and Mary Ellen (O’Dwyer) Paulsen. Her father worked for Standard Oil Company that transferred the family to the Island of Aruba in 1934. She spent an idyllic childhood in Aruba, roaming the island, swimming in the crystal clear water and generally getting into good-natured mischief with her brother and friends. The family eventually relocated back to the States where she began her High School career at Greenbrier Academy boarding school for girls in Pence, West Virginia, finally graduating High School in 1946 in Cranford, New York. In 1950, she received her Bachelor’s degree from Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts. She then went on to marry the love of her life, Joseph Fallon, on December 26, 1950 in Jackson Heights, Queens, New York. Aside from her marriage and raising 9 children, positively influencing the lives of her 25 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, she was most proud of passing on her love of her Catholic Faith and being instrumental, along with others, in bringing the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest to the Diocese of Rockford and St. Mary Oratory, with the gracious permission of the, then, Bishop Thomas G. Doran. She had a special love and devotion to the Traditional Latin Mass; reflecting the beauty of her much-treasured Roman Catholic Faith. She enjoyed playing the piano, singing and performing with her husband with the Senior Follies in Rockford. Later in life, she directed and performed in the Talent Show at her independent living facility, Siena, where she lived out her final years. Very special thanks to OSF Hospice, Sister Angelica and Karen, who took such great care of her in her final weeks.
She is survived by those who loved her most, her children, Christopher (Caroline), Stephen (Nora), James (Mary), Marykay Fallon, John (Karen), Daniel (Keila), Nora (Mark) Heninger and son-in-law, Mark Chambers; 25 beloved grandkids and 9 great-grandkids. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Joseph; son, Kevin and daughter, Eileen Chambers; granddaughter, Keely Eileen Heninger; parents; brother, Alfred Paulsen and nephew, Mark Paulsen.
