Margarito Ochoa

November 8, 1934 — April 30, 2022

Margarito Ochoa 87, of Rockford joined his Lord after an enduring struggle with cancer. He passed in his home surrounded by his loved ones, Saturday, April 30, 2022. He has left this life to join our Lord but his unwavering love will stay within our hearts.

Born in Lytle, Texas on November 8, 1934, the son of Facundo and Florentina (Garcia) Ochoa. He married the love of his life, Eva Villarreal, on August 16, 1954. Listening to music, dancing, fishing, watching baseball, and soccer were a few of his favorite hobbies. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. He retired from Warner Lambert. He was a lifetime member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. The family would like to give a special thanks to Serenity Hospice and nurse April.

He is survived by his three daughters, Delia (Jim) Bryant, Lucy (Dennis) Tureson and Victoria (Leandro) Garcia; grandchildren, James (Sarah) Bryant, Bobby (Carolyn) Bryant, Chad (Brittany) Bryant, Dennis Tureson Jr., Francesca (Nate) Lindesmith, Bianca Garcia, Julien (Selina) Garcia and Shayla Garcia; 17 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Trinida (Stella) Ochoa, Lorenzo Ochoa, Facundo (Salome) Ochoa, Meregildo (Maria) Ochoa, Elario (Juanita) Bustamante, Ireno Bustamante, Rodulfo (Mondesta) Bustamante, Alacaida (Juan) Sanchez, Virginia (Pedro) Gariboy, Adela (Juan) Dominguez, Elida (Luis) Cruz, and Grizelda Ochoa. Predeceased by his loving wife Eva Ochoa, Daughter Manuela Ochoa, his parents, Facundo and Florentina, brothers, Trinida Ochoa, Lorenzo Ochoa, Facundo Ochoa, Ireno Bustamante, Rodulfo Bustamante, sisters, Alacaida Sanchez, Virgina Gariboy, Adela Dominguez, and Elida Cruz.

Due to covid, the family requests for everyone to please wear a mask for services.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2022 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel 3910 N Rockton Ave. Rockford, IL 61103. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2022 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2400 Bell Ave. Rockford, IL 61103. Final resting place will be in Willwood Burial Park.
