Marie Louise (Mosier) Nesmith, 77, of Rockford passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born August 12, 1932 in Ferndale, MI, the daughter if William J. and Bertha E. (Greider) Mosier. Grew up in Perkins/Rapid River, MI, where she graduated from Perkins High School in 1950. Attended Saint Joseph School of Nursing, Bloomington, IL graduating in 1953 earning a degree as a Registered Nurse. Marie was united in marriage to her "soul mate" Jack Donald Nesmith from Bloomington, IL on November 11, 1954 in Escanaba, MI. They made Rockford, IL their home in 1957. Jack preceded her in death March 25, 1980. Employed by Rockford Memorial Hospital from 1958 until 1966, nursing in various departments. She was also employed with Home Health Care Agencies from 1991 until 2007, caring for babies and children with high technical needs in their homes, giving her heart to each one. Active member of the Cathedral of Saint Peter, professed member of the Dominican Lady, Saint Peter Martyr, Eucharistic Minister and was an adorer at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel on North Court Street from its opening until its closing. She was also associated with the Diocese Deaf Apostolate. Member of Saint Joseph Nursing Alumni, Bloomington, IL. Marie enjoyed the theater and ushered at New American Theater for 15 years. Survivors include her sons, Kevin, Brion (Joanne), David (Jenniffer), Bradley (Penny daughter, Elizabeth "?BethAnn (David) Zarembski, grandchildren, Nicholas, Christopher, Rachael, Zachary, Jennifer, BreAnna (Harner), Michael, Jason, Camille, Jacob Nesmith, Matthew, Noelle, Andrew Zarembski, Tassie Santiago; great-grandchild, Kaiden (Harner brother, Joseph Harold (Sylvia) Mosier, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Jack, parents and brother, Clifford William.Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Cathedral of St. Peter, 1243 N. Church St. with Rev. Kevin Butler officiating. Visitation will be held from 10-11am Saturday with a rosary recited at 9:30am at the church. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in care of the family or to the Diocese Deaf Apostolate. Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd.
