Marietta M. Schopf, 90
Rockford- Marietta M. Schopf, 90, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born February 13, 1925 in Hobart, IN., the daughter of Volney and Elizabeth (Jungles) Peer. Married Max Schopf on July 3, 1947. He predeceased her on August 27, 1991.
Marietta was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. She was a Veteran of the US Navy, a Girl Scout leader, and an election judge for over 50 years. Marietta especially enjoyed her family and family events.
Survivors include daughters Chris Alexander, Jan (Tom) Mount, and Val (Dave) Hammes; son Andrew Schopf; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Predeceased by son-in-law Larry Alexander, two brothers and four sisters
Visitation is Friday, August 21 from 5-7 pm at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel. 3910 N. Rockton Ave., Rockford, IL 61103. A Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 22 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Veterans Drop in Center. 413 N.
