Marilyn Pierson

Marilyn E. Pierson, 66, of Rockford left this world peacefully May 31, 2012, in her home surrounded by family. Born October 7, 1945, in Waukesha, WI; daughter of Irwin and Anna (Oswald) Van Abel. Graduated from Waukeshas Catholic Memorial High School in 1963. After high school she became a dental assistant and worked for the civil service in Milwaukee, WI, where she met her future husband Dean Pierson. They married August 24, 1968 in Waukesha, WI and later settled in Rockford. Loving wife, mother, sister; she enjoyed playing guitar, fishing, swimming, bowling and collecting antiques, amongst other things. Some of her fondest memories were from traveling to Hawaii with family and enjoying various pets throughout the years.

Marilyn is survived by loving husband Dean; daughter, Michelle (Scott Mize son, Erik; son Christopher (Jennifer Evans brother John; sister Susan; sisterinlaw Marilyn Van Abel and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by parents, brothers Donald and William and sister Rose Marie.

Memorial visitation to be June 8, 2012 from 11 am to 12:30 pm followed by a brief service at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Noahs Ark Animal Sanctuary, 111 N. 1 st St., Rockford, 61107 or memorials may be made to the family.
