Marion J. White

Marion J. White, 85, of Rockford, IL, passed away in her home on Sunday, June 2, 2019.

Marion was born in Rockford, IL on February 10, 1934, daughter of Earl and Elanora (Harner) Welsby. She graduated from Rockford East High School. Marion married Robert White on August 19, 1955 in Rockford at Trinity Lutheran Church where they were lifelong members. She was employed with Bergner’s for 28 years. Marion enjoyed playing golf, planting flowers and taking her absolute best care of her yard and home. She also loved spending time with her family, friends and sisters. Marion will be dearly missed.

Those left to honor her memory include her beloved children, Dave (Char) White, Don (Beverly) White and Debbie (Tim) Ellison; grandchildren, Josh, Jake, Brandon, Rachel and Ashley; great-grandchildren, Ryland, Cecelia, Jaxson and Aria; brother, Bill (Kit) Welsby; sisters, Nancy Bergstrom and Linda (Mark) McDonald. The family would like to give special thanks to Marion’s caregivers, Gena, Ruth, Inga and Ramona for their great care and compassion. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, Robert, and sister, Donna Winquist.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61108. Burial will conclude in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family to be established at a future date.
