Marjorie Mae Coonradt

Marjorie Mae Coonradt, 91, Freeport, passed away peacefully, Sunday, May 25, 2014, in Manor Court in Freeport. She was born December 26, 1922, in Rockford, the daughter of Arthur and Amy (Johnson) Carlson. Marjorie married Morgan Coonradt on October 19, 1945. He passed away September 16, 1994. She worked as a secretary for over 30 years serving with Rockford Fire Chiefs Wayne Swanson and Bill Baylor. Marjorie was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church where she belonged to the Sew and Sew's. She was a member and past president of AFSME and helped organize the Administrative Professionals for the fire department. She was an active lobbyist for senior rights until she was in her 80's. Marjorie received the "Key to the City" from Rockford.
Survived by her daughters, Virginia "Ginny" (Phil) Colgan of Sandwich and Patricia "Pat" (Jerry) Schneiderman of Freeport; her grandchildren, Kelly (Josh) Gschwend, Erin (fiancé, Nick Rott) Colgan, Daniel (Kathy) Schneiderman, Amy (Scott) Trimble, Kristin (Ben) Bayle, and David (Connie) Rohlman;, 13 great grandchildren: 1 nephew and 4 nieces including Kathy (Jerry) Vorwald and Mary (Gordon) Moscinski; her cousin, Patricia Lundquist. Predeceased by her husband of almost 50 years, Morgan; her sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Paul Huddleston, and her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Margaret and Arlin Timberlake.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, May 30, 2014, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 4700 Augustana Dr. Rockford, 61107, with Reverend Kenneth R. Storck officiating. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. at the church on Friday. Memorials to Freeport Health Network Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association, 1111 S.
