Marleen Robinson

Marleen Robinson, 79, of Rockford passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2012, in her home surrounded by her loving family.nbsp; She was born October 11, 1932, in Greeneville, Tennessee, the daughter of Willie B. and Elizabeth Irene (Smith) Harris. Marleen moved to the Rockford area when she was 6 years old. She graduated from Byron High School in 1951.nbsp; She married James E. Robinson in Byron on May 12, 1952, and he preceded her in death on November 17, 1991. She worked at Amerock for 10 years and was an assembler at Barber Coleman for 32 years, retiring in 1998. nbsp;Marleen attended Christ United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and volunteering with the Friends of the Library, but most of all, she was an avid reader.

Survived by children, Laura (Wayne) Packer of Machesney Park, Cynthia Cindy (Ed) Lally of Windsor, Connecticut,nbsp; Diane (James) Goetz of Greenville, RI, David (Diane) Robinson of Rockford and Keith (Tracy) Robinson of Machesney Park; grandchildren, Michael (Tonia) Packer, Alissa (Bill) Burden, Adam (Heather) Clift, Jarrett Krischke, Nicole Robinson, Charles (Lindsey) Clift, Bradley Robinson, Kelsy Robinson, Steven (Ashlee) Robinson and Daniel Robinson; greatgrandchildren, Raiden Packer, Eva Burden, and Brayden Robinson; sisters, Charlotte Hoppenworth of Crown Point, IN and Carolyn Scott of Rockford; numerous nieces and nephews.nbsp; Predeceased by her parents; her husband, James, her son, Curtis; her sisters, Dorothy Harris and Delores Jo Pohl; and her brothersinlaw, Pat Scott, Ken Pohl and Gary Hoppenworth.

Memorial services will be at 4:00 pm, Monday, June 18, 2012, at Christ United Methodist Church, 4509 Highcrest Rd., Rockford, with Reverend Laura Barkley officiating.nbsp; Private family burial in Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery.
