Marshall Field

Marshall O. Field, Jr. 82, Rockford, passed away peacefully March 27, 2013, in his home. He was born July 26, 1930, in Monticello, Wisconsin, the son of Marshall and Frances (Bowers) Field, Sr. He was a veteran of the Navy. Marshall married Opal Breezley in Markville, Minnesota on July 1, 1950. He was a machine repairman at Sundstrand Corporation for many years. Marshall was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and a past member of Charles Street Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed collecting Native American artifacts, was a member of Blackhawk Carving Club, and was active in scouting with his sons for many years.
Survived by his wife, Opal; sons, Steven (Mary) Field, Alan Field, Lary (Alice) Field, and Gerald (Pam) Field; grandchildren, Stacey, Greg, Lucas (Leann), Leann, and Jason,(fianc', Aimee) Field; sister, Darlene (Jack) Breit; and his constant companion, Pepper. Predeceased by his parents; brothers, Virgil, Ronald, and Eugene.
A memorial service for Marshall will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, April 13, 2013, in Westminster Presbyterian Church with Reverend Dr. William Ward officiating.
