Mary A. Giacone

Mary A. Giacone, 87 Loving Mother and Nana   Mary A. Giacone, 87 of Rockford, died Monday, November 3, 2008 at St. Anne Center. Born November 27, 1920 in Plaquemine, LA the daughter of Joseph and Fannie (Genusa) Roccaforte. Married her loving husband Jasper Giacone on June 9, 1946 in Maringouin, LA. She is a faithful member of St. Rita Catholic Church. Survivors include her children, Annette (Roger) Nowicki, Phyllis Sandine, Nicholas (Jacki) Giacone, Joseph Giacone and Francesa (David) Nelson; loving nana to 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and brothers, Sam and Phillip Roccaforte. Preceded in death by her Parents, her husband, son-in-law Jim Sandine and 2 brothers.   Funeral Mass Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Rita Catholic Church. Interment in Arlington Memorial Park. Visitation on Friday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd. from 6 to 8  with a Rosary service to be recited at 8 p.m.. Visitation will continue on Saturday at church from 9 to 9:45.  In lieu of flowers memorials to: St. Rita "?s Building Fund, 6254 Valley Knoll Dr. Rockford, IL 61109.
