Mary Ann Mule

Mary Ann (Callea) Mulé, 95, of Rockford, IL, passed away on January 6, 2022. She was born in Rockford, IL on May 29, 1926 to Frank and Digna (Licata) Callea. Mary graduated from West High School in 1944. She married Vito Mulé on June 15, 1947 and together they raised 2 children. Mary worked at Barbara Coleman for 5 years. She was a long time member of St. Bernadette Church. Mary was a member of the ladies auxiliary for the Knights of Columbus and the Senior Citizen group at St. Bernadette. She was a caring person and donated to many organizations such as; D.A.V Auxiliary, EWTN, Poor Clare’s, and the Rockford Rescue Mission. Mary enjoyed cooking, going on long walks, and praying the Rosary daily. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Mary is survived by her children, Vito T. (Kimberly) Mulae and Katherine (Donald) Hess; her grandchildren, Christopher (Jacquelyn) Mulae and Andrew (Meghan) Hess; her great-grandchildren, Jackson and Elleney Hess; her step great-grandchildren, Chandler and Laina Yurs; her siblings, Rosie Callea and Michael (Helen) Callea; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, infant son, siblings, Jennie Callea, Bennie (Olga) Callea and Joseph (Donna) Callea.

Funeral Mass for Mary will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. 2400 Bell Ave., Rockford, IL 61103 with visitation starting at 9:00 a.m., until the start of Mass. Burial to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel. 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL 61108.
