Mary J. Schrock

Mary J. Schrock passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 8, 2015. Mary was born on January 31, 1938, in Rockford, the daughter of Merritt R. Schrock and Edith Anderson Schrock. During her career, Mary worked for Home Lumber Company, Smith Oil Company and Trinity Lutheran Church. What Mary enjoyed most, was spending time with her family and friends. Her quick wit and sense of humor were appreciated by all who knew her. She was also known for her delicious homemade toffee and fudge which delighted her family through the years.

Mary is survived by her loving sisters, Pat Marston and Sandra Dobel of Rockford; loving brother, Dick (Connie) Schrock of Madison, WI; nieces Deborah (Bill) Bradley, Vickie (Dave) Bond and Judi De La Ronde all of Rockford; nephews Dave (Pat) Marston of Rockford and Joel Dobel of Winter Springs, FL and special great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. The family would like to thank the entire staff at P.A. Peterson Nursing Home for their wonderful and loving care of Mary. A special thank you to her nurse Tami and her caretaker, Minnnie.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford at 11:00 am on Monday July 13, 2015, with Pastor Chuck Olson officiating. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 am until the time of the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the charity of your choice.
