Mary L. Schramm, 91, of Rockford, passed away Monday, September 3, 2018. She was born October 1, 1926, in Saybrook, Connecticut, the daughter of Matthew and Mildred (Hall) Piscatelli. Mary was a strong willed woman with a huge heart. She enjoyed, fishing, crabbing and “playing in the dirt” while gardening. She loved to play bingo and go to the casinos. She also liked doing puzzles and playing cards. Mary was a huge fan of the New York Yankees. Most of all Mary cherished the time she was able to spend with her family and friends. She will be forever remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Survived by her daughters, Mary (Richard) Pederson and Clara (Michael) Kopycienski; grandchildren, Daniel (Beth), Aaron (Aimee’), and Bradley (Amber George) Watton, Dawn (Ray) Hooper and Christy (Robert) Burton; great grandchildren, Olivia, Cierra, Cerenity, Ashlyn, and Aaron, Deanna, Rachel and Elizabeth; sisters, Jacqueline Treola and Althea Rivard; brother Gerald Piscatelli; as well as, many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers: Alexander, Matthew, John, and William Piscatelli; sisters, Anna Strickland, Beverly Bittner, Shirley Tucker, Barbara Dean, Sandra Proctor, Pauline Proctor. Mary is also predeceased by her son-in-law David Watton Sr. and her grandson David Watton Jr. The family would like to thank the caring and compassionate staff at Serenity Hospice in Oregon, especially Brenda, April and Vicki.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl St, Mystic, CT 06355. Visitation will be Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at Dinoto Funeral Home. Interment will occur at Elm Grove Cemetery, 197 Greenmanville Ave, Mystic, CT 06355, Monday, September 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.
