Maynard Mike Boyer died peacefully at Amberwood Care Center on November 8, 2011 with his wife of 61 years, Ada, by his side. Born October 4, 1931 in Rockford, IL. Son of Lloyd
and Annie (Kloster) Boyer. Graduated from West High School Class of 1950. He Eloped with his high school sweetheart, Ada(Meisel) Boyer on Septemeber 26, 1950 in Pocahantas, Arkansas. Active member of Lincoln Park Church of Christ.
He was employed by Commonwealth Edison for 28 years as an Assistant Training Supervisor Byron Nuclear Power Plant; retiring in 1986. In his retirement, he worked for Rockford Park District Lockwood Park teaching horseback riding therapy to handicap children. Survived by wife, Ada, Daughters Linda (Lyle) Johnson Branson, MO, Sandra(Craig) Cannon Friendship, WI, Kelly (Glenn) ScottPecatonica, IL, Son Terry (Megan) Boyer Marina Del Rey,CA. Four Grandchildren Leah (Tyler) Blaine, Luke Johnson, Chelsea Brown, and Abbigail Scott. GreatGrandchild Addison Lee Blaine. Brother Jerry (Jeanine) Boyer. Sisters Virginia (Duane) Lundgren, Joyce (JimSpecial Friend) Lundberg, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, brotherinlaw Bruce Lundberg, and nephews Tom Lundberg and David Lundgren. Funeral Service at 11am Friday November 11, 2011 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home 3910 N. Rockton Ave with Glen Williamson officiating, pastor of Crossroads Community Church.
Visitation from 9am until 11am Friday in the funeral home.
Private family burial.
