Michael J Roche, 31, of Rockford passed away September 28, 2012. Mike was born on April 26, 1981 to his loving parents John and Carol (Anderson) Roche. Mike was an active child with a talent and enthusiasm for sports. His main passion was soccer but also played basketball at Holy Family where his team won the diocese championship. Mike played on a traveling soccer team for over ten years and nbsp;had the opportunity to play in the Illinois state championship for Boylan Catholic High School. Mike pursued an athletic scholarship at the University of WisconsinGreen Bay and Rockford College. Mike had a deep love for his family.nbsp; He passionately supported the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears and loved to have fun and spend time with friends and family.nbsp; Michael will be deeply missed by his sister and her husband, Evan and Jacqueline (Roche) Buschmann; Uncles and Aunts, Peter and Sandra Roche, Richard and Susan Roche, and Ronald and Alice (Anderson) Rehberg; Cousins, Scot and Angela Roche, Michael and Lisa (Roche) Berlage, Michael Roche, Daniel and Nikaline Roche, Steven Roche, and Laura Roche. Predeceased by his grandparents, Peter and Alexia Roche and Stern and Marjorie Anderson; and Uncle Terry Kappen.

Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Rd.nbsp; www.fitzgeraldfh.com.nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4 at Fitzgeralds Funeral Home, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Visitation will continue from 10 am until 10:45 at Holy Family Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Roche Family Memorial.
