Michael Lee Rush

Michael Lee Rush, 61, of Rockford, IL passed away on July 18, 2018 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center.

Michael was born on March 28, 1957 in Cairo, IL, the son of Cleveland and Violet (Hays) Rush. Michael married the love of his life, Mary (Trumbull) Rush on February 9, 1999 in Rockford, IL. He served in the United States Army and was a Sergeant for the Winnebago County Department of Corrections. Michael especially enjoyed spending his free time golfing and fishing. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of 19 years, Mary; children, Matthew and Cashylo Rush; 1 granddaughter; brothers, McConney, Roosevelt, Matthew and Phillip Rush; sisters, Karen (Kerry) Green, Patricia, Patti and Christina Rush. Predeceased by his parents; sisters, Evern and Gloriann; brothers, Joseph Ray and Michael Lee Rush. The Rush family would like to especially thank all the nurses in ACC at OSF. Michael loved all of you so much. You made him smile and forget about the bad things for a while. You were truly his angels.

Cremation rites will take place according to Michael’s wishes and the family has previously held a celebration of life to honor his memory.
