Michael P. Tuite

Michael P. Tuite, 45, of Rockford and Tampa, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2015. He was born in Rockford, on August 5, 1969; son of Gerald F. and Diane (Goodrid) Tuite, Sr. He married his loving wife, Jenifer (Burkardt) on January 1, 2012 on Siesta Key Beach, FL. Mike was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams were Notre Dame Football, the Chicago Bulls, the Chicago Bears, the Cincinnati Bengals, and Xavier Basketball. He loved movies, and music, especially James Taylor. Mike was known for his outgoing personality and sense of humor. He was a good friend to many, had a huge heart and lit up a room. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Jenifer Tuite; daughter and love of his life, Megan Tuite; mother, Diane Buechner; siblings, Greg (Mary) Tuite, Dr. Gerald F. (Susan) Tuite, Jr., Tracy (Paul) Beraud; stepmother, Francine Tuite; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Michael is predeceased by his father, Gerald, Sr.; and stepfather, Bob Buechner.

Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m., Saturday, May 9, 2015, at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave., Loves Park, IL, 61111, with burial immediately following at St. Mary/St. James Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Liver Foundation, 39 Broadway, Suite 2700, New York, NY, 10006.
