Michele Y. (Spray) Kelly, 52, of Rockford IL. Passed away on Sunday April 17th, 2016 at Swedish American (Heart) Hospital, after a long illness. Michele attended Jefferson High School graduating in 1981. She also attended Rock Valley College. As a young girl, Michele liked helping out at her Aunt Betty (Gilley s) hair salon, always handling a variety of tasks. A little later Michele worked as waitress at The Sky Room restaurant at the Rockford Airport. Michele was Administrative Assistant at Fire and Safety Equipment of Rockford, Inc. for 15 years leaving in 2005 due to her illness. A gifted public speaker, Michele excelled as a member of the speech team while at RVC, achieving numerous awards at both State and Regional levels. In February, 1985, she met her loving husband to be, Patrick. Married at Faith Center in Rockford on March 29th, 1986 (for time and all eternity), Patrick and Michele moved to St. Paul, Minnesota returning in November 1986. Still living in Rockford they recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. Michele enjoyed playing board games, especially at the holidays, with her family. Crafting, volunteering (RRVP) gardening, listening to music and spoiling her little dog Daisy were also things that made Michele smile. Always putting the needs of others first, she had a warm and loving heart that was truly sincere and selfless. There will never be another like her.
She is survived by her husband, Patrick Kelly, Rockford. Father Charles L. Spray, Rockford. Sister Yvette(Erik) Swenson , Rockford, Brother Aaron (Kelli) Spray, Byron , Sister Erica (Jason) Miller , Davis Junction Brother-in-law, Sean Kelly, St. Paul MN. Nephew, Devin (Morgan) Swenson, Chicago, Nephew (Godson) Drew Swenson. Nephews Liam Spray, Carter Kelly. Niece Cora Spray. Also numerous Uncles, Aunts, and cousins. Predeceased by Mother Patsy R. (Spray), Aunt, Betty (Gilley) and her beloved dog of 16 years Gromit. The family would like to thank Dr. Rose Stocker, Wound Care Clinic, Medical Pain Management, and the Heart Hospital at Swedish American Health System. Carol, and staff, at DaVita (Roxbury) Dialysis. Sally with Able Home Health Care. Additionally countless nurses that gave loving care.
Arrangements are pending with Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory in Rockford. A private memorial is being planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers the family appreciates charitable memorial gifts.
