Mildred Helen ""Mickey"" Woelfel, 85, of Rockford, passed away at 12:28pm on Sunday, November 30, 2008 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born July 4, 1923 in Chicago, IL; the daughter of Carl Anderson and Frances Fiect. Married George J. Woefel in Chicago on November 16, 1957. She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church and volunteered many years at American Red Cross in Chicago. Mildred was one of the top volunteers with over 6000 hours at OSF St. Anthony, was currently volunteering at NIRIS Public Radio serving the sight impaired in Northern Illinois. She loved to China paint and enjoyed all family activities. She always took time for daily prayer and appreciated every sunrise and sunset. So many of us will miss her so very much, Thanks mom and grandma. Survivors include her husband, George; son Michael (Mary) Woelfel of Wisconsin; grandchildren, Amanda (Michael) Wonders and Candice (Aaron) Dailey; great-grandchild, Lexi Ann Wonders; son, Patrick (Eva Lynn) Woelfel of Washington; grandchildren, Caitlin Woelfel and Garrett Woelfel; dear friends, Monsignor Charles McNamee; Loretta McNamee and Sister Rose McNamee, B.V.M.; cousin, Carolyn Deike. Predeceased by her grandson, Christian Woelfel. Funeral Mass will be offered by Msgr. Charles McNamee at 11:0am Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at St. Edwards Catholic Church, 3004 11th St., Rockford, IL, 61109. Visitation will be held from 10-11am Wednesday at the church. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Edwards Church / St. Vincent DePaul Society. To
