Nancy C. Stohle

Nancy C. Stohle, 80, of Rockford, died peacefully, Saturday, May 5, 2012 in her home surrounded by her family. Born June 26, 1931 in Rockford, the daughter of Clarence and Pauline (Brown) La Pointe. Graduated from East High School class of 1949 and married her loving husband, Carl L. Stohle on June 5, 1953. Nancy was a proud wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and family was her number one priority. Previously employed at the Rockford Register Star in the circulation department. She also found time to cross stitch, travel, and play in three card clubs and at the end of the day her home was always in tip top shape. Birthdays and Holidays were especially important to Nancy because it meant that all of her family would be together. The family would like to extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you to Emily in Oncology at the Swedish American Cancer Center and to Northern Illinois Hospice Association. Survivors include her husband, Carl of Rockford; son, Mark (Christine) of Machesney Park; daughters, Cheri BelterWescott of Winnebago and Paula (Joe) Cascio of Rockford; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and her sister, Claudine Berg of Rockford. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Steven in 2004. Funeral service Thursday, May10, 2012 at 11a.m. at Alpine Lutheran Church, 5001 Forest View Ave. with Rev. Dr. Richard J. Meier officiating. Visitation Wednesday, May 9, 2012 from 57 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd. and will continue on Thursday at church from 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment services will be held at 2 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials in her name to Alpine Lutheran Church or Northern Illinois Hospice and Grief Center.
