Nina E. Sauberlich

Nina E. Sauberlich, 94, of Rockford. She went home to be with our Lord, Saturday May 1, 2010 in Provena Cor Mariae after a short battle with Cancer. She was born December 21, 1915 in Rockford. The daughter of George and Frances Lewis. She married Herman Sauberlich on June 27, 1939 in St Patrick Catholic Church. She worked for Amerock for 18 years retiring in 1978. She was a member of the Womans Guild and the Choir of St Edward Catholic Church. A Graduate of Muldoon High School. Nina loved to sew and cook, Everyone loved her apple pie squares. She also kept a journal everyday for many, many years.Survivors include her Children Edward J. Sauberlich of Machesney Park, David H, Sauberlich of Sarasota Florida, Donna L.(James) Owens of Pecatonica, Rita M. Ritter of Roscoe, Shirley A Trudeaux of Cherry Valley, Mary E. (James) Giometta of Salt Lake City, Utah and Dolores E. (Thomas) Morehouse of Salem, OR. 17 Grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Predeceased by her parents; husband, Herman; grandsons, Sean Trudeaux and Mark Owens; brothers, LaVerne, Raymond, Joseph and Eugene; sister Vera Nolan and son-in-law Sam Ritter.Mass of Resurrection will be on Wednesday May 5, 2010 at 10:45am in Provena Cor Mariae Chapel with Father John Stringini officiating. Entombment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation on Tuesday May 4, 2010 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home 3910 N. Rockton Ave. from 5pm until 7pm. Visitation also from 10am until time of service Wednesday in the Cor Mariae Chapel In lieu of flowers memorials to be established at a later date.
