Oscar H. Jansen, Jr.

Oscar H. Jansen, Jr, 84, Fond du Lac, WI, formerly of Rockford, died Monday, November 2, 2009, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. He was born June 10, 1925, in Chicago, the son of Oscar H. and Mildred (Lindahl) Jansen, Sr..

Oscar married Gloria V. Kindgren in Rockford on December 18, 1948. She passed away in Rockford on January 15, 2007. He was a member of Christ the Rock Lutheran Church. Oscar served overseas in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1596 in Cherry Valley, and the American Legion Carlson Post 1207 in Rockford. Oscar retired as Chief Engineer of JL Clark Co after 28 years. He was previously employed in the Engineering Dept of Mechanics at Universal Joint, Sundstrand Machine Tool, and as an instructor for Adult Education Dept. of Rockford School District for the Tool amp; Die Apprentice Program. Oscar volunteered as Assistant Commander of Rockford Police Dept. Auxiliary Police unit.

Survived by his daughters, Virginia Ginny (Jerry) Kloth of Dallas, GA and Catherine Cathy (David) Anderson Foster of Fond du Lac, WI; grandchildren, Christine (Guy) Jacobson, Rev. Cory (Heather) Kloth, Cami (Daniel) Pernell, Rebecca Becki (Daniel) Argyres, and Jason (Shannon) Anderson; great grandchildren, Henry, Cordell and Aaron Jacobson, Autumn, Garner, and Shannon Kloth, Virginia Nia and Jeremiah J.J. Pernell, Keziah and Jaiden Anderson and Elias Argyres; several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents, his wife, Gloria; brother, Theodor Jansen; sister, Gloria Jansen (Dame) and son-in-law, Mitch Anderson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30am, Thursday, November 5, 2009, in Christ the Rock Lutheran Church, 8330 Newburg Rd. Rockford, IL 61108, with Rev. David Meggers officiating. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30am until service time at the church.
