Pamela Sue Ripplinger of Belvidere, IL departed this earthly life June 2, 2021 at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, IL, with her children by her side. Born January 13, 1949 in Litchfield, IL, daughter of George & Arlene (Beyer) Robertson. Married Frank “Dusty” Ripplinger on June 20, 1970, in Belvidere. Graduated from Belvidere High School class of 1967 where she was taken for a flight in her T-Bird during the devastating tornado that year. Pam was employed for a time at General Mills but her life’s work and joy was raising her family and later becoming a daycare for her grandchildren and children of close friends. She was forever Mimi (or Pam Pam) to all “her babies”. Pam was a Girl Scout leader and also volunteered online in several Genealogy forums. She was a lover of the past and traced family history back several hundred years, connecting with distant relatives along the way. Pam also loved the St. Louis Cardinals, Christmas & especially Halloween. Halloween was an event, complete with cupcakes for trick or treaters, haunted house decorations and a huge pot of chili on the stove.
Survivors include daughter Jeralyn (Troy) Green currently of Jonesboro, AR and son Skyler (Jenni) Ripplinger of Rockford. Grandchildren Abbey Green of Jonesboro, Austin Green of Riverview, FL and Matthew & Brenna Ripplinger of Rockford. One great-grandson Kasen Green of Jonesboro. She also leaves several close friends, relatives & her “also family” - Janet & David Ziegler, God-daughter Nicole Ziegler and Stephanie Ziegler. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 7 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton, IL, with burial following at Memorial Park in Staunton. The family is establishing a memorial in her name to benefit those afflicted with Sjogren’s disease.
