Patricia Pat Caronna

Patricia “Pat” Caronna of Durand passed away Monday June 6, 2016 in Swedish American Hospital. She was born April 4, 1938 in Rockford, the daughter of Eugene and Jenny Carlyle. She attended Muldoon High School, Edgewood College and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Rockford College. She married Joseph Caronna on June 11, 1960 in Rockford. Pat taught at many schools including, St. Bernadette, St Rita, RPS 205 and for the last 20 years at St Peter School Rockford. Member of St Mary Church Durand. She was a wonderful Seamstress and Knitter.
Survivors include her husband Joseph. Four children; Gina Caronna of South Beloit, Joseph Caronna of TN, Stephen Caronna of Rockford and Jennifer (Dana) Smith of Atlanta, GA. Grandchildren, Julia, Benjamin and Genevieve Marvin, Todd Gray, Nicholas Caronna, Kane, Payton and Samantha Smith. Predeceased by her parents, and two brothers, Robert and Donald Carlyle.
Memorial mass at 4pm Wednesday June 8, 2016 in The Cathedral of St. Peter with Rev. Msgr. Thomas L. Dzielak officiating. Visitation from 3pm until Mass time Wednesday in the church. Dinner gathering will follow the mass at the Verdi Club, all are invited. In lieu of flowers memorials to Poor Clares 2111 South Main Street or American Cancer Society.
