Patricia Rae Canfield Meisenholder

PATRICIA RAE (CROWLY) CANFIELD MEISENHOLDER, 82. ROCKFORD - Patricia Rae (Crowly) Canfield Meisenholder died Tuesday, January 22, 2008 in Provena Cor Mariae Center. Born May 16, 1925, in El Reno OK, the youngest daughter of Walter Q. and Jennie B. (Bates) Crowly. She married Dr. Burt J. Canfield at Fort Sill, OK where she worked as a Lab Technician. The couple returned to Rockford where he was co-founder of the Canfield Clinic and she was active in and Past President of the Rockford Art Association was active in the Womens Club, and a member of the Mayflower Circle of 2nd Congregational Church. After Burts death in 1966 she graduated from Rock Valley College where she worked as an Assistant to the Registrar. She married David L. Meisenholder in Rockford in 1969 and moved to Lincoln NE. There she graduated from the University of Nebraska with a Masters Degree in Accounting, and worked as Director of the Job Training Program of the State of Nebraska Department of Labor until her retirement. She was active back-stage in the Lincoln Childrens Theatre Summer Starz Series . Pat loved travel, collecting art and antiques, and entertaining guests in her home. She returned to Rockford after Davids death in 1999. Pat is survived by her sister, Carol Copeland of Phoenix, AZ; sons Thomas M (Linda) Canfield of Montrose, CO; Robert E (Caren) Canfield of Rockford; daughter Sally Canfield of Rockford, grandchildren: Betsy Youngquist, Charles (Debra) Youngquist, Joseph (Lilien) Youngquist, Anna (Donald) Cooling, Leah (Scott) Voohries, Suzanna (Devin) Farebee, James Canfield, Kimberly Canfield, Gregory Canfield, Elizabeth Canfield, and eight great-grandchildren. Special thank-you to the staff at Provena Cor Mariae for their compassionate and professional care and support. Predeceased by parents, two brothers, a sister, and both husbands. Funeral services will be held at 4 PM, Sunday, January 27, 2008, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL. 61108 with Rev J. Michael Solberg officiating. Visitation will be from 2PM until service time at the funeral home. Burial in Willwood Burial Park.
