Patsy R. Spray

Patsy R. Spray, 68, of Rockford, surrendered this life to be with Our Lord on Sunday, August 11, 2013 after a lengthy illness. Born on November 17, 1944 in Corning, Arkansas, the youngest of seven children to Henry and Edna (Moore) Hollaway. Attended Rockford schools. Patsy was united in marriage to Charles L. Spray on January 27, 1962 in Rockford, IL and together they raised four children. Patsy was a faithful and devoted wife, a loving mom and grandma who taught her kids by good example and honest answers. She was an exceptional homemaker whose creativity was only surpassed by her determination. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. She is survived by her husband, Charles; four children, Michele (Patrick) Kelly, Yvette (Erik) Swenson both of Rockford, Aaron (Kelli) Spray of Byron and Erica (Jason) Miller of Davis Junction; grandchildren, Devin Swenson (fiancé, Morgan Bomkamp), Drew Swenson, Liam and Cora Spray; sister, Bonnie (Ralph) Hazen of Mt. Airy, NC; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her parents; brother, John C. Hollaway and four siblings in infancy. Private memorial service for the immediate family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society or The Rock River Valley Pantry.
