Paul Andrew Martin

Paul Andrew Martin 79 of Rockford passed away Tuesday October 13, 2015 in Swedish American Hospital. He was born January 20, 1936 in Rockford, the son of Emil and Matilda Martin. He graduated from West High School class of 54. He then married Erlene Whitehead on October 2, 1959 in Rockford. He owned and operated Martin Building Services for many years. Member of St Mark Lutheran Church. Past president of Rockford All Girl Sports and Rockford Metropolitan Sports. He loved his family and grandchildren. He also loved coaching softball, playing golf, the Chicago Bulls and Blackhawks.
Survivors include his wife Erlene. Three children; Paula Martin of Portland, OR, Dana Martin of Roscoe and Kristin (Dean) Martin-Fry of Roscoe. Grandchildren; Daxx Spera, Trey Fry, Makayla Martin and Mason Martin. Brother; Roger Martin. Sisters; Mildred Meyers of Amboy, June Sendele of AZ, Dorothy (Pete) Peterson of CO, Shirley (Earl) Whitehead of Cherry Valley and Ginny (Craig) Stillman of NY. Numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents and Sister AnnaMae McDowell.
Celebration of life at 11am Friday October 16, 2015 in St Mark Lutheran Church with reverend Mark Hagen officiating. Memorial greeting from 9:30 until service time Friday in the church.
