June 11, 1945 — August 31, 2016

ROCKTON - Randle "Randy" J Cagnoni, 71, of Rockton died Wednesday, August 31, 2016 after a two year courageous battle with cancer, as a result of Agent Orange exposure while in Vietnam.

Randy passed away peacefully at the Medina Manor, Durand, IL, after just being transferred there the day before, from the William S Middleton Memorial VA Hospital, Madison, Wisconsin, where he was a patient for a period of time.

Born June 11, 1945, in Rockford, son of Bruno and Linnea (Gustafson) Cagnoni. He married Joanne M Pollock August 13th 2016, his best friend and partner of 33 years.

Randy worked at Lockheed Missile and Space in California before being drafted into the Vietnam War. He graduated electronics school in Madison, Wisconsin before working many years at Kwik Kall Communications as a technician, Rockford, IL.

After retiring in 1995 Randy enjoyed his travels, with moves to Florida, San Antonio & Harlingen, TX, and finally back to Rockford area (Rockton).

Randy's first love was flying his Cessna airplane, but also loved his motorcycles as a young man. He enjoyed spending summers in Canada at his dad's cabin, going to festivals, fairs, and art shows and many concerts at the Pensacola Civic Center in Pensacola, FL. Randy was also enjoyed all things electronic in nature and could be found tinkering with computers in his workshop frequently.

He enjoyed great ethnic foods while in the South and enjoyed Margaritas and music at McGuire's Irish Pub with friends while living in Pensacola.

He is survived by his wife Joanne, several nieces and nephews, cousins especially Anita, and many special friends.

Predeceased by both parents; and brothers David and Bart.

There will not be any visitation, services, nor memorial service, as per his wishes.
