Raul “Rudy” Robles, 58
Rockford- Raul “Rudy” Robles, 58, passed away in his home on Thursday, April 23, 2015. Born March 16, 1957 in Brownfield, Texas the son of Eduardo and Ignacia (DeLeon) Robles. Rudy married his best friend and soul mate, Debbie Landgraf on August 23, 1986 in Rockford at St. Rita Catholic Church. Together they had 2 beautiful children, Stephanie and Christopher.
Rudy worked in maintenance for the Diocese of Rockford. First, for many years at the Cathedral of St. Peter church and school and most recently at St. Bernadette church and school. His love of children made him a favorite of all the students. He started every day with a hearty hello and a smile. Rudy shared his secret stash of mints with all the kids and always made them feel special.
Rudy found everything repairable. He could mend a piece of equipment as easily as a piece of furniture. A childs’ bad day was always turned around with a smile from Rudy. He loved a good laugh, a good game of softball, and secret handball games in the gym of St. Peter.
Rudy believed in the word of Christ and the faith of the Catholic church. He will be greatly missed by so many people. Rudy is survived by his wife of 29 years, Debbie; daughter, Stephanie; son, Christopher; brothers, Eddie, Benny, Bobby, Tony; sisters, Olivia, Rose and Margie; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Eduardo and Ignacia and his sister Rachel.
A memorial visitation will be held Sunday, April 26, 2015 from 3-6 pm, with a Rosary to follow at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave., Rockford, IL 61103.
