Ray L. Krause Jr.,68Loving Dad, Grandfather to the Krause and Oelkers Children Ray L. Krause Jr., 68, of Loves Park passed away suddenly while on vacation with his grandson Jonathan Oelkers, at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. He was born April 30, 1942 in Atkinson, IL. Son of Ray, Sr. and Dorothy Krause. He married Mari Nelson in Galesburg on September 15, 1962. Ray, a retired partner as National Director of Accounting in the National Office of Audit and Accounting for McGladrey & Pullen, LLP. He has been with the firm since 1968 and was named partner in 1975. As a partner, he had a responsibility for the firms Financial Accounting and Reporting Manual. Currently he served as a consultant with the McGladreys National Accounting Standards Group on the interpretation and application of accounting standards. Ray is a former member of the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council (FASAC), the Emerging Issues Task Force (EITF), and the Accounting Standards Executive Committee (AcSEC). Members of FASAC are appointed by the Financial Accounting Foundation, and members of the EITF and AcSEC are appointed by the Financial Accounting Standards Board and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) respectively. AcSEC is the senior technical Committee of the AICPA regarding financial accounting and reporting standards. He is a member of Beta Alpha Psi (National Accounting Fraternity) and Sigma Iota Epsilon (Honorary Management Fraternity). Ray graduated Valedictorian of his high school class and graduated cum laude from Northern Illinois University. A veteran of the National Guard. He attended First Evangelical Free Church. Survivors include his children, Denise (Jeff) Oelkers of Rockford and David Krause of Loves Park. Grandchildren David, Jonathan, Rachel and Jacob Oelkers. Brother Steven (Teresa) Krause of Kewanee and nieces and nephews. Proceeded in death by his parents and his wife Mari on June 7, 2004. Visitation at First Evangelical Free Church on Friday June 18, 2010 from 5:30 until 8:30 with prayer service at 6:30pm.Funeral Services at 1:30pm Monday June 21, 2010 in Henderson Grove Messiah Lutheran Church in Galesburg, IL. Visitation also at Henderson Grove Messiah Lutheran Church on Monday from 11:30am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Arrangements completed by Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL.
