Richard E. "Rick" Nausner

Richard E. “Rick” Nausner, 44, Cherry Valley, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2015, at home. He was born March 27, 1971, in Belvidere, the son of Gerry and Carol (Geeser) Nausner. Rick was a veteran of the Army. He was an avid sports fan and coached baseball and basketball and was a radio sports announcer. He played baseball on the Young Guns baseball team. Rick loved spending time with his children.
Survived by his parents, Gerry and Carol Nausner of Machesney Park; his daughters, Michaela Nausner, Ashla Soter, and Jacey Nausner; his brother, Greg (Christy) Nausner of Freeport and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces. Predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Erwin and Ella Nausner and his maternal grandparents, Francis and Estelle Geeser.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, January 2, 2016, at the Community Bible Church, 6732 Harrison Ave. Rockford, located in the East end of the Rock Church Campus. Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory assisted the family. Share online condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com
