Richard L. Puckett, 81, of Rockford passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at his home.nbsp; Born July 21, 1930 in Sterling to LaDoit and Mary (Loran) Puckett.nbsp; Graduated from Community Catholic High School, Sterling in 1949.nbsp; Attended the Art Institue of Chicago.nbsp; He was employed for many years as an occupational therapist at Childrens Memorial Hospital in Chicago. He came to Rockford in the early 1980s and worked at Camaraderie Arts and The Friends House Neighborhood Center for Creativity and NonViolence.nbsp; Richard served in the US Army with the 1 st Infantry Division in Germany during the Korean War.nbsp; After discharge he returned to his studies at the Art Institute.nbsp;
He is survived by his brother, Joseph (Sarah) Puckett of Rockford, his sisterinlaw, Elizabeth Puckett of Sterling and many nieces and nephews.nbsp; Predeceased by his parents and brothers, John and Robert Puckett.
A graveside service is planned for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Calvary Cemetery in Sterling.nbsp; The family was assisted by Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Mulford Chapel.nbsp;
