Robert A. “Bob” Coutlee, 72, Rockford, passed away Friday, August 26, 2016, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 19, 1944, in Kankakee, the son of Alexander and Lorraine Coutlee. Bob graduated from the University of Illinois Chicago with a B.S. Degree in Finance. He married Geraldine “Gerry” Schubeck in Rockford on November 21, 1981. Bob worked as a Project Engineer for Dean Foods since 1979, retiring in 2010, and spent much of his free time as a woodworker and remodeling his home. Bob truly enjoyed his 1994 C4 white convertible Corvette and participating in the Annual Woodward Dream Cruise in Birmingham, MI. Bob’s greatest love was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survived by his loving wife, Gerry; his daughters, Laura (Vince) Messina of Redmond, WA and Christine Coutlee of Rockford, his step-children, John (Michelle) Stehman of Belvidere, Jodi Stehman of Mundelein, and James Stehman of Cherry Valley; his grandchildren, Marisa, Makenna, and Madison Messina and Anna and Andrew Stehman; his sister, Reverend Ellen (Robert) Jennrich of Los Angeles, CA and many nieces and nephew. Predeceased by his parents.
Memorial service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 24, 2016, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with his sister, Reverend Ellen Jennrich officiating. Visitation is from noon until time of service. Cremation rites have been accorded. Share online condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
